Authcon brand identity

A powerful Brand Identity for a customer identity conference seeking to bring Customer Identity and Access Management (CIAM) to the forefront.

Details
AuthCon is a developer-focused conference centered around Customer Identity and Access Management (CIAM), bringing together engineers, product teams, and security leaders around modern auth.
The goal of the project was to create a bold, developer-driven brand identity that moved away from the cold, overly corporate aesthetic common across cybersecurity events. Instead, I shifted the direction toward a brighter, more playful retro-inspired identity designed to feel approachable, energetic, and nostalgic for developers.

THE CHALLANGE

Most security conferences rely on the same visual language: abstract gradients with tech graphics, rigid enterprise branding, and the generic “future cyber” aesthetics. AuthCon needed an identity that could stand apart from traditional tech events while still maintaining technical credibility.

The challenge was creating a system that felt fun without losing trust, technical without feeling corporate, nostalgic without looking outdated, bold enough to feel like a modern developer community. The identity also needed to scale across digital campaigns, conference environments, motion graphics, social media, merchandise, and speaker assets.

THE OUTCOME

The final identity positions AuthCon as a modern, playful, developer-first, and culturally differentiated within the security space. The brand successfully balances technical credibility, community energy, retro-inspired personality, and scalable systems thinking while creating a more recognizable and engaging conference experience for modern engineering audiences.
